ICS Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead

Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland (LLR) Integrated Care Board (ICB) are seeking a pharmacy leader with the vision and skills to engage stakeholders and integrate services.

The post holder will be responsible for the development, implementation, and clinical governance of Community Pharmacy clinical services within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, working as part of the ICB clinical and medicine optimisation leadership team.

The post holder will work with national, regional and system colleagues and teams to help deliver the best value from community pharmacy programmes and services by providing clinical expertise to support pharmacy integration pilots and projects and to embed new clinical services to fully realise their potential.

This role is for a qualified pharmacist or pharmacy technician.

The Post is Short Term to March 31st 2024, and can be either a Secondment or a Short Term Contract.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support delivery of the commitments in the GP 5-year deal, the community pharmacy 5-year deal, the LTP and wider health initiatives, such as addressing health inequalities.

With responsibility for:

Leadership of integration activities to promote community pharmacy's role and the importance of pharmaceutical services in an ICS.

Informing a transformation plan for community pharmacy with their ICS.

Working in collaboration with PCN Clinical Directors, pharmacy teams and colleagues within NHS Trusts and other organisations (e.g. LPC, LPN, AHSN) to support the integration of clinical pathways with community pharmacy clinical services.

About us

LLR provide have an agile working policy and therefore majority of staff work from home and attend the office as required. Some travel may be needed as part of the role, but this is not likely to be a frequent requirement. The post holder should anticipate being included in the LLR On-Call rota.

You will be joining the LLR Medicine Optimisation Team and Clinical Quality Directorate and a system which is ahead of the curve on delivering the Integrated Medicine and Pharmacy Optimisation strategy and enjoys a genuine collaborative approach.
