Job summary
An exciting opportunity has emerged for 2 Registration Authority Agents to join our team and contribute to the ICB's ongoing expansion of Smartcard-enabled applications.
In essence, the RA facilitates the Identity & Access Management (IAM) process for the ICB by conducting thorough identity checks, issuing Smartcards, and allocating access based on positions for utilization across various clinical applications.
The ideal candidate will conduct appointments independently, both in-office and remotely. They will also offer continuous technical support related to Smartcards and associated software, providing precise, clear, and concise information, often of a technical nature, to assist with problem-solving and appropriate referrals.
Please note that priority will be given to NCL ICB employees who are affected by change.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure the continuous provision of the ICB's RA service to facilitate timely access for clinical and support staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all RA service activities in compliance with the Data Protection Act and other Information Governance regulations.
- Adhere to all National and ICB policies and procedures regarding registration for NHS CRS Smartcard applications.
- Train and support staff in the introduction of Smartcards for accessing clinical systems.
Perform RA Activities in accordance with ICB policies and procedures, including:
- User registration
- Verification of user ID checks to e-GIF level 3 and taking photos
- Creation of user NHS Spine UUID accounts
- Production and issuance of Smartcards
- Ensuring compliance with Smartcard usage terms and conditions
- Role profile maintenance/administration, including adding, changing, deactivating, and revoking role profiles
- Handling user suspension and resetting PIN/Passcode
- Smartcard certificate renewal and replacement for lost or damaged cards
- Incident reporting and monitoring of user access and Smartcard use
- Offering appropriate training, process advice, and guidance
- Diagnosing and resolving RA-related problems, as well as referring non-RA related issues to the relevant department.

Essential
- Diploma Qualification in one or more computer system(s), hardware or software, acquired through diploma or equivalent experience.
- GCSE Math and English A-C or equivalent.
- ICT literacy demonstrated through equivalent experience or qualification.
- Qualification in Business Administration, Customer service gained through experience or Certificate/Diploma.
- Strong computing skills in particular sound knowledge and use in RA software / CIS, MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word.
Desirable
- Project Management (PRINCE 2 , PMP or other qualification, evidence of affective project methodology)
- Able to produce reports and analysis to support business/RA planning
Experience

- Experience of working in the NHS, particularly ICT or customer service.
- Experience of using IT equipment and Software.
- Experience of working collaboratively with other organisations.
