Job summary

We are currently recruiting for two band 3 Finance Administrative Officers to join our Finance team.

As Finance Administrative Officer, you will support in the financial management and reporting of ICB budgets. The post holder plays an important role within the finance directorate and in the interface between the finance directorate and the rest of the organisation. They will assist on the operational work across the directorate; and ensure plans are in place and delivered to achieve the strategy; underpinned by the delivery of short to medium term objectives.

We will enrol the successful candidate on an 18-month BPP AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting which builds on GCSE/A level study starting in Dec 24 and support them in their studies. This will provide an excellent opportunity to gain work experience and achieve a nationally recognised qualifications at the same time.

Main duties of the job

You will support the Managers within the Directorate to deliver effective financial management within the designated areas within the ICB.

  • Work with other teams across the Directorate to assist in the consistency of planning, ledger input and reporting to ensure information is properly managed.
  • Provide high quality project, service, initiative, and administrative support including information and analysis.
  • The post holder will deputise for the Manager as required. The post holder may also need to deputise for other members of the finance team as required

  • Contribute to the information management of performance, taking a lead for specific projects.
  • Provide coordination of and participate in relevant meetings, reporting attendance and providing information advice and support where requested.
  • Work with members of the team and key stakeholder to investigate the causes of any variance from plan/delivery targets and contribute to the implementation of solutions.
  • Responsible for preparation of correspondence and simple papers, as directed by Manager.
  • Complete finance reconciliations.
  • Ensure ledger integrity is maintained, including posting of accurate journals and virements.
  • Support monitoring ICB budgets, including budget holders' meetings in accordance with finance timetable.
  • Support with resolving budget holder queries, including training budget holders, where appropriate, to enable them to resolve their queries.
  • Supporting with maintaining SBS budget holder mapping.
  • Assist the team in the production of monthly management accounts, internal monitoring reports as per the timetable.
  • To assist in preparing, monitoring and uploading into the general ledger all accounting adjustments e.g. journals, virements, forecasts etc.
