Job summary

We are looking to recruit an exceptional Director of Digital Programmes to join the Performance & Transformation Directorate. The Director of Digital Programmes will be responsible for the development, management and monitoring of the ICB's overall plan for Digital, including the development of a forward pipeline of digital schemes, supported by a single NCL-wide digital programme portfolio.

This will include a central approach to setting project plans, oversight of delivery of digital programmes and the wider development of the digital capacity and capability across the ICB.

It is an exciting time to be joining NCL ICB - we have commenced an organisational change programme to redesign the structure of the organisation and the way that we work to better meet the needs of our population, our people, our system, and our partners. As part of the organisational change programme, we want to re-launch and re-energise the organisation, embed new ways of working and building the capabilities we need to create a thriving organisational culture.

Main duties of the job

  • Identify appropriate mitigations in the event of variation from trajectory on the system digital programme plan
  • Deputise for the ICB Chief Information Officer as You will create and encourage a digital first approach across the ICS and foster the sharing of innovative improvement ideas from frontline health and care staff
  • Support the digital transformation and planning approach across NCL, working closely with colleagues across the ICB and providers
  • Support the development and management of GPIT services for the ICB
  • Monitor, report and evaluate the impacts of major digital projects, to board level and other stakeholder meetings
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the local achievement of the 'What Good Looks Like' guidance and forthcoming target state architecture framework, as set out by the NHSE Transformation Directorate, ensuring all organisations in the local system achieve at least minimum viable standards of digital maturity and have a coordinated roadmap towards full digital maturity
  • Ensure plans coherence with national health and care policy, standards, and strategic priorities. Including:
  • the NHS Long Term Plan
  • the Net Zero agenda
  • These plans are designed to support elective recovery times, tackle health inequalities, and deliver the objectives of the NHS Long Term Plan
  • Requirement to be part of the NCL on-call rota
