Job summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for an associate director to join Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (BSW ICB) and build a high-performing communications and engagement function.

The post holder will be directly managing and strategically leading the communications and engagement function for BSW ICB and as part of the wider function for BSW Together (our Integrated Care System).

We're looking for someone who has real passion for first-class communications and engagement, who is comfortable with change and always strives for excellence.

A member of the senior leadership team, the post holder is responsible for developing, implementing and delivering a communications and engagement strategy for communicating, involving and engaging with patients, localities, the public, local government and politicians, other key stakeholders and staff.

Main duties of the job

  • The role of the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement is to strategically lead and be accountable for the communications and engagement function for Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (BSW ICB).
  • A member of the senior leadership team, the post holder is responsible for developing, implementing and delivering a communications and engagement strategy for communicating, involving and engaging with patients, localities, the public, local government and politicians, other key stakeholders and staff.
  • The post holder is required to ensure that strategies enable feedback from stakeholders and patients, to be systematically captured and used to improve the quality of services commissioned by BSW and to reduce health inequalities.
  • Working with the health and social care economies across BSW the role will also support, develop and implement communications strategies to support a number of significant transformational programmes in collaboration with other organisations within the wider system.
  • The post holder is responsible for shaping the culture and influencing direction of the communications teams working across BSW, enhancing team skills and fostering effective talent management to improve economies of scale and promote collaborative working.
  • Working with the Directors of Place the post holder will help to implementing local communications and engagement strategies across the three localities.
