Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a new head of public engagement and insights to join the CCG, lead our engagement sub-team and ensure our strategic and operational plans reflect the needs of local people and that we use their insights and aspirations to help shape our work and tackle health inequalities.

Main duties of the job

The role of head of engagement and public insights sits within the CCG's communications and engagement team. We are looking for someone to join us and help realise our vision to be experts in our field, trusted and strategic business partners, not only to staff at the CCG but also our local health and care partners. You will be an engagement specialist with excellent people management skills and possess a sound knowledge of engagement theory and have direct experience of leading involvement activity. You will have demonstrable understanding of the latest market research techniques and how to effectively measure the impact of engagement activity. You will be able to work independently, be comfortable adapting to fast-changing situations and handle multiple priorities.

You don't necessarily need an NHS background, but we're looking for someone who has the passion, energy and stamina to support us as we strive to achieve our vision of empowering people to lead their best life.

About us

Our CCG is responsible for planning and commissioning health and care services across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire and we have an annual budget of £1.5 billion. These are unprecedented times for all health and care services as we set out on our Covid-19 recovery. As the Health and Care Bill passes through Parliament, we are also preparing to transition the CCG's people and functions to the Integrated Care Board (ICB) from July 2022. The measures in the Bill relating to Integrated Care Systems are expected to become law which means we will have a broader range of responsibilities, empowering us to better join up health and care, improve population health and reduce health inequalities.

If you feel you have the passion, drive, adaptability and resilience to succeed in this role, we look forward to receiving your application. If you have any questions or would like to talk to someone about the role, please contact Tamsin May tamsin.may@nhs.net
