Job summary

The Improvement Pillar Lead will utilise their continuous quality improvement expertise and experience to work closely with the BSW Academy Director and the rest of the team in setting the direction, further developing, and leading the pillar priorities, including project reporting. The role will also form part of the overall Academy team working with other pillar leads for areas of synergy and sharing. The post is an opportunity to apply cross-organisational working, relationship building and system leadership skills whilst being part of a new change innovation where you can make a difference for staff working in BSW and the care that they provide.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work dynamically across the BSW system in championingand providing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) expertise, advice, andsupport both at locality level and the wider system.The post holder will support the Academy Director, SRO and Senior Manager inthe development and implementation of the improvement pillar priorities and theoverall BSW Academy strategy aligned to transformation projects, programmesand delivery of the ICS Quality Strategy.Specific responsibility for discovery, developing and leading the projectmanagement of the improvement pillar, including leading on the implementationand evaluation of specific priorities.

Leading the BSW Improvement Community of Practice and devolved workinggroups that are inclusive and representative of all BSW partners.

Taking forward a distributed model of leadership through networks, agile projectgroups and communities of practice to secure effective ways of working andalignment of agendas, for example alignment of the National Patient Strategyrequirements, and the objectives of the Academy pillarThe post holder will define current CQI processes, facilitate discussions, andadvise colleagues as to how best practice might be adopted in the definition offuture processes, document those processes as they are agreed and overseetheir delivery.BSW Academy Improvement Pillar LeadResponsible for developing and delivering sustainable CQI training and coachingto build CQI capacity and capability, and support the growth of talentmanagement across BSWTo monitor data/ intelligence to identify trends this will require the interpretation,presentation, and response to complex data into clear and recipient appropriatereports.Act as a positive and inclusive ambassador for the BSW Academy includingmarketing and public relations management.Uphold the governance of the BSW Academy providing assurance to the Directorand executive leads.Provide high quality written and verbal reports to the Academy Committee and itsassociated governance, and as required report and present relevant updates andassurances to BSW System Quality GroupShare best practice from local, regional, and national work programmes thatidentify opportunities for at scale system change and improvement.To effectively use patient safety methodology, ensuring the efficient use ofsystems to assure that lessons are identified, learned, shared, and are utilized toprioritise quality improvement.To act as a champion for the people of BSW and their interests,ensuring the voice of the person is at the heart of Continuous QualityImprovement activities.To continually recognise and utilise appropriate links between qualityplanning, quality assurance and quality improvement to ensuretransparent and shared learning to continually improve services for ourpopulation.
