Job summary
The ICBs are responsible for the safe,
effective and efficient commissioning of dental services for the population of
the agreed area of Yorkshire and the Humber (Y&H). Humber North Yorkshire
(HNY) ICB is the employing organisation for the dental team on behalf of the
other 2 ICBs in Y&H.
The Deputy
Director of Y&H Dental Commissioning is a high-profile leadership role that
will manage the delivery of dental commissioning across Y&H. The postholder
alongside the dental team will deliver this by:
Overseeing and assuring commissioning of dental services in relation to
ICB and place commitment, providing support appropriately.
Procuring (including exit and entry) and monitoring contracts with
providers to ensure quality, safety and effectiveness of services.
Support and oversight of Local Dental Networks and Managed Clinical
Networks.
Acting in instances when services are compromised and reduce access to
dentistry.
Supporting ICS to deliver significant improvements in oral health and
access using evidence-based initiatives including:
o Flexible
commissioning
o Workforce
transformation, including the establishment of multi-disciplinary teams.
o Digital
implementation
o Access commitments
Main duties of the job
Support the Transformation and Improvement Teams with the system assurance programme enabling the development of the system strategic commissioner function.
Effectively managing resources delegated to ensure deliverables are achieved for dental services.
