Executive Director of Finance and Investment
Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (857)

Job summary
NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for planning and arranging the provision of NHS services to meet the diverse health needs of a population of 1.7 million people. Our area reaches over 1,500 square miles and includes the cities of Hull and York and the large rural areas across East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
We are part of the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, one of 42 Integrated Care Systems (ICS) across England, created to meet health and care needs, coordinate services and plan in a way that improves population health and reduces inequality between groups. The Health and Care Partnership comprises of NHS organisations, local councils, health and care providers and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.
We recognise that the NHS is only one part of a much wider system of partners, who together provide health and wellbeing services which shape the future of health services across our diverse geography.
We published our first ICS wide strategy in May 2023, setting out our ambition for everyone in our population to live longer, healthier lives by narrowing the gap in healthy life expectancy between the highest and lowest levels in our communities by 2030 and increasing healthy life expectancy by five years by 2035.
Main duties of the job
As our Executive Director of Finance and Investment, you would play a pivotal role in ensuring we are able to continue delivering on our ambitious plans, while remining an organisation that continues to operate with financial responsibility. You will do this by working with our colleagues across the system to ensure this reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations within the ICS and the needs of our population.
Suitable candidates will be comfortable operating at board level, have strong strategic leadership skills and a track record of leading transformational change within a politically charged environment. You will also have excellent partnership working skills, with the credibility to operate at Board level both within the ICB and across the wider system. Most importantly, you will have exceptional personal integrity and be committed to championing diversity, inclusion, and equality of opportunity for all.
