Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to work as part of our Quality team to support the commitment to the delivery of the NHS Ten Year Plan, our North Lincolnshire Place based Strategic and Quality Objectives, as well as working collaboratively as part of the ICS to deliver on our collective vision.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a key role on leading the quality agenda. The successful candidate will provide expert advice and support on matters relating to quality oversight and assurance. They will have a strong focus on driving improvements to enhance the quality of services for our local population whilst embedding a culture of shared learning and continuous improvement.

This role would suit a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about patient safety and improving quality for all. The successful candidate would be part of a forward thinking and supportive team, where learning and development opportunities are embraced.

Job responsibilities

Interviews Friday 26th May

To deliver on a range quality and patient safety assurance and monitoring activities, which will ensure that the NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE ICB PLACE is effectively sighted on the quality of care for all patients, and confirm whether such care meets both nationally and locally agreed contractual standards. The work will include but not restricted to provider quality assurance visits reviewing KPIs and CQUIN data from a quality and patient safety perspective.

To lead detailed analytical reviews of incident investigations, identifying key themes and trends make recommendations for, and work with organisations to deliver focused targeted actions to drive improvements in patient safety and learning proactively.

To communicate and meet regularly with commissioned providers and where appropriate attend and chair meetings on behalf of the NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE ICB PLACE to ensure the oversight of quality and challenge standards of quality and patient safety

To ensure robust and comprehensive processes are in place to gather and triangulate information and data to monitor the quality of services to ensure the early detection of any quality and or patient safety concerns from serious incidents. To advise on the content of provider KPIs and CQUINs and make appropriate recommendations. This will also include review of the evidence received from providers against their quality metrics and holding them to account where these are not achieved.

To critically review and challenge highly complex clinical situations managing often highly complex sensitive or contentious information and to negotiate and work with commissioned providers and partner agencies to identify suitable solutions that will reduce the risks of hospital admission.

To work with the Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality to continually raise standards relating to transforming care across North Lincolnshire and work with other services to reduce the risk to patients

Work closely with co-commissioners and specialised commissioning to ensure effective sharing of information and an integrated approach to quality and patient safety

To establish and maintain effective partnerships across the NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE ICB PLACE, social care and service providers

Promote quality and patient safety, innovation and partnership working

To be responsible for making judgements and recommendations regarding providers performance against key quality and patient safety indicators and standards

To prepare and contribute towards detailed analytical reports outlining the providers performance against the management of serious incidents and highlighting key themes and trends with associated action taken to mitigate future risk, improve patient safety, and present to the Quality, Performance and Finance Committee.

To lead and manage the Quality Directorates risks on the NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE ICB PLACEs risk register ensuring timely and meaningful updates are undertaken.

To lead and provide overall management of the NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE ICB PLACEs web based incident-reporting system, ensuring optimal usage by the end users and NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE ICB PLACEs administrators and fit for organisational purpose.

  • Previous experience working within the NHS or healthcare environment
