The Key responsibilities of the role
would be:
Oversee a portfolio of projects to ensure they are planned, managed and
delivered effectively;
Develop effective working relationships with a wide range of partner
organisations to ensure co-ordinated action within community pharmacy
integration projects;
Be a key member of the POD team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder
management, both internally and externally, including patient and public
engagement when necessary;
Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring,
implementation and evaluation of tasks/projects by providing high quality
support including complex information and analysis, communications and
stakeholder management;
Support the POD team to deliver against strategic objectives;
To undertake research of best practice delivered elsewhere and be aware
of updated and developing national or other external guidance;
To collate evidence to support planned community pharmacy integration
agenda projects;
Utilise effective transformation, service redesign and project
management techniques (such as process mapping) to ensure effective project
design, delivery, implementation and evaluation;
Main duties of the job
Primary care general practice, community
pharmacy, optometry and dental services, delivers 90% of NHS interactions, face
to face, by phone and online. The commissioning of NHS community pharmacy was
delegated to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in England on 1st April
2023 and a number of new services have been launched to increase patient access
to a range of clinical assessment and treatments such as Pharmacy First, Blood
Pressure Check and Oral Contraception services and more are in development and
implementation stages such as the Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing
Pathfinder Programme.
This is a key
role within the clinical transformation of community pharmacy as part of the
Primary Care Directorate. The role will be integral in supporting system wide
collaborative working to facilitate the delivery of several work streams
identified as part of the community pharmacy integration programme.
