Job summary

One Gloucestershire ICS is a well-established partnership of health and care organisations based around trusted and collaborative relationships that are working hard to deliver joined-up services and support for the people of Gloucestershire.

There has never been a more exciting time to join us as we continue our journey as an ICB. Working with our dedicated One Gloucestershire partners, we have a clear and ambitious five-year ICS strategy in place and a Joint Forward Plan underpinned by the same core strategic pillars.

Following the recent publication of Lord Darzis Report Independent Investigation of the NHS in England, we believe that Gloucestershire is in a strong position having identified and prioritised many of the underlying findings and long-standing challenges. However, we are not complacent about the size and scale of the task ahead.Moving forward, NHS Gloucestershire ICB will have a pivotal role to play in addressing these significant challenges facing the health and care sector, aligning our shared strategic plans with the emerging 10 Year Health Plan and meeting the needs of our current population and the needs of future generations. As an ICB, we recognise that we cannot do this alone. We have developed a strong track record for engagement and partnership working and this will continue to be the driving force behind improving health and wellbeing, improving care and outcomes for our citizens and tackling unacceptable and long-standing health inequalities.

Main duties of the job

It is against this backdrop that we embark on the process of appointing our new Chief Executive Officer. They will play a leading and inspirational role working with our local health and care professionals and our fantastic partners, at system, locality and neighbourhood level, including local councils and other public, community and voluntary sector colleagues.

As the successful candidate you will provide highly effective and compassionate leadership across the system, including to our dedicated health and care professionals within the ICB.

You will drive improvement in health and wellbeing and in care and services, with a key focus on population health, a greater shift from hospital to community, including improved access, leading edge acute services and digital innovation. As head of the ICB leadership team, you will lead and influence complex transformation and improvement, through collaboration and mature partnership working.

We are looking for an experienced and highly effective board member, with strong strategic leadership skills and a track record of leading change within a politically charged environment. You will have the highest levels of personal integrity, be community focused, with a strong social purpose. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to championing diversity, inclusion, and equality of opportunity for all.
