Job summary

This post offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of NHS Gloucestershire (Integrated Care Board) and across the One Gloucestershire Integrated Care System (ICS) as an expert in the field of digital communications (PR).

As an experienced professional, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of a best practice digital communications strategy and plan that supports system priorities.

A highly organised individual, you will act as the lead for innovation in digital communications and professional advisor on targeted and integrated communication solutions.

Main duties of the job

As well as developing, implementing and managing specific digital service communication plans you will also lead innovative citizen led campaigns, shaped by behavioural insight and underpinned by strong evaluation measures.

Other essential duties include development and maintenance of the highest quality corporate online and social media channels and production of associated digital assets.

With your skills, knowledge and enthusiasm, youll help to ensure that NHS Gloucestershire and the ICS push the boundaries in use of communication technologies and adopt innovative techniques and methods for reaching and engaging identified audiences.

Working within a dedicated communication service and alongside an ambitious digital transformation team, you will promote the clear benefits, and encourage increased use of, digital services.

A leading light in raising the profile of the great working going on in Gloucestershire, you will be influential in developing the systems growing reputation for excellence in communication.

Applicants will be educated to degree level or equivalent and possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. You will also possess a minimum of three years experience working within communications or a related field e.g. marketing, public relations or media.

  • Possess highly specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory, skills and experience
  • Understanding of the public sector

Desirable

  • Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project.

Planning Skills

  • Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly
  • Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.

  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
