Job summary
The ICB wishes to appoint a clinician to the role of Clinical Digital Lead.
The Clinical Digital Lead acts as a clinical champion for and provides clinical leadership regarding the development and use of information and communications technology in support of commissioning and in transforming local services in line with commissioner aspirations to deliver improvements in the quality, outcomes and efficiency of care.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting role that unites informatics and clinical practice, ensuring the successful use of information and IT systems in the transformation of healthcare.
The role is based at Sanger House in Gloucester as well as working remotely from home.

Enable, promote and support the effective use of data,
information, knowledge and technology to support and improve health and health-care
delivery.

role of Informatics, therefore, is to ensure an organisation has the required
cost-effective systems, information and technology services to provide excellent
clinical care to its patients, in conjunction with its stakeholders throughout
the wider health community.

- Registered as a clinical professional with the GMC NMC, HPC or equivalent professional registration body
Desirable
- Registered with relevant professional body for clinical specialty e.g. Royal College of Physicians

- Registered with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the professional body for informatics; or willing to register within 6 months of appointment
- QSIR College Accredited (or other quality improvement approach)
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Health or care professional degree qualification (e.g. medical practitioner, nursing, allied healthcare professional)
- Currently in clinical practice as a doctor, nurse or allied healthcare professional in Gloucestershire.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders within and outside the organisation and in a multi-professional environment
Desirable
- Registered with relevant professional body for clinical specialty e.g. Royal College of Physicians

- Registered with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the professional body for informatics; or willing to register within 6 months of appointment

- Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Health Leadership or equivalent
- Masters level degree in either informatics, business analysis or process re-engineering, or equivalent (or relevant experience)
- Change management experience related to the planning and delivery of work in a clinical setting with demonstrated success in overcoming resistance to a change in clinical working practice
- Understanding of the local and national commissioning environment and standards expected by commissioners
- Active Involvement in at least one major informatics intervention (such as deployment of an Electronic Patient Record system) to improve care quality within the last three years.
- Attained national Clinical Safety Training for clinicians
- Ability to understand budgets and financial and non-financial planning
- Knowledge of Population Health Management approaches
