An exciting opportunity has arisen - the Strategy Team at North West London Integrated Care Board is looking for candidates who are passionate about strategy and transforming healthcare. The post holder will be joining a small, enthusiastic team working at the heart of the ICS to transform the healthcare of 2.1 million residents.

As a strategy manager within North West London Integrated Care Systems strategy team, you will play a significant role in shaping the development and delivery of long-term health and well-being strategy in one of the most complex Integrated Care Systems (ICS) in the country.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

The senior strategy analyst will support the strategy team to deliver four main responsibilities:

Support the NWL Integrated Care Partnership to prepare their overarching strategy for health and care across NWL.

Structure and coordinate production of the statutory five-year joint forward plan that spans the ICB and NHS providers. This includes advising the ICBs board on priorities for the coming year and beyond.

Support the ICS programme teams, borough-based partnerships, corporate functions, and other teams to develop long term strategies and plans that will deliver the ICSs strategies and objectives.

Shape the organisation and architecture of the ICS in order to deliver the strategies and plans.

The post-holder will be expected to:

Liaise effectively with wider ICS stakeholders to coordinate strategy project activities and act as an ambassador for the strategy team.

Provide high-quality project management and support to ensure that the assigned project(s), tasks and activities are led, planned, managed and delivered effectively through the use of processes such as: delivery plan, risk and issue management, governance, reporting, change management, and dependency management.

Support, motivate and inspire team members, and invest time in two-way coaching.

Support the strategy team in the development of strategies with analytical work and written content, as required by the team

Prepare detailed programme and project plans and undertake accurate and timely reporting of progress against plan.

Produce and update key documents including programme plans, programme risk and issue logs, preparing risk reports, progress reports, and dependency logs.

Attend and coordinate team meetings, supporting forward agenda planning, coordinating contributions to papers, preparing papers and presentations, and ensure that minutes and actions are noted and tracked as appropriate.

Organise, curate and regularly updated a central repository of policy information, research, reports, data, tools, etc. that the strategy team can use on a day-to-day basis to undertake their responsibilities.

Support annual and longer-term planning processes, in line with the strategy teams four key responsibilities.

Manage the teams financial activities (e.g. contracting, payment of invoices to suppliers, etc.) and ensure compliance with standing orders and standing financial instructions in the discharge of this responsibility.

Develop systems and frameworks to effectively monitor programme delivery and to support future strategic developments.

Support the development and tracking of a suite of KPIs, and associated targets and trajectories to track progress and support the ICS in the delivery of its four objectives. KPIs should track productivity and value for money, impact on inequalities, care quality and access, and outcomes.

Strategic acumen

Support the strategy team to develop strategies, as required.

Employ robust strategic frameworks developed by the strategy team.

Support the strategy team in the development of robust evidence-bases for each strategy.

Research and gather quantitative and qualitative information from a variety of internal and external sources.

Support the strategy team perform their financial responsibilities, including assessing the current value for money of services, assessing the effectiveness of current spend, and developing proposals for how money could be spent more effectively.

Health sector knowledge and experience

Support the strategy team in research & development (R&D) activities, including monitoring services and their under/over-performance, and proposing new models of care.
