Clinical leadership and expertise are identified as essential for delivering the North West London Integrated Care System vision and objectives. The clinical leadership works together across the Integrated Care System to focus on service improvement, service redesign and the development of care pathways from primary care through to secondary care and community-based services.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and committed Integrated Care System health and care leadership team to shape the impact of primary care leadership in North West London.
The Primary Care Clinical Lead in each borough has an important role within the Integrated Care System, leading on the delivery at place level of complex changes and integrated working across health and social care working in close partnership with the Borough Medical Director, Borough Director and team.
This role will enable you to contribute clinical experience to support the ICB and local borough priorities. It requires strong strategic leadership skills, critical reasoning, good governance and delivering impactful public outcomes.

The post holder will play a key role in providing clinical leadership and support to the local borough team, the wider PBP team, and support the Borough Medical Director in providing clinical insight into transformation and development at a local level.
Key responsibilities for the post holder will include:
Deputise for the Borough Medical Director where capacity allows
Working closely with the Borough Medical Director, the role will provide clinical input to the programmes delivered by the local teams and support the PBP to ensure clinical pathways are effective as possible
Use their in-depth knowledge of the local clinical landscape to input into the work of the NWL Clinical Leads and align with local nuances on provider landscape and systems
Enable the output of the work driven by the NWL Clinical leads to be implemented within the local borough by creating links within the local landscape
Provide clinical input to INT development and key work programmes.
Take on time-limited projects where clinical input is required in order to ensure the outcomes meet the needs of the population and where capacity allows
Work to improve patient care with PCN Teams to tackle neighbourhood level inequality of health access, experience and outcomes
Work closely with partner organisations, including third sector agencies, to improve pathway interfaces with primary care
Have a flexible approach when dealing with multidisciplinary teams; able to identify a range of solutions
Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services, and initiatives which may be highly complex, sensitive, political, and contain contentious information.
Ensure the patient voice and patient experience is at the heart of decision making.
Support and facilitate primary care or multi-professional educational and training needs identified.

Support the primary care quality agenda of the three elements of quality: patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience within primary care.
Support the Primary Care Quality Improvement team to implement the primary care quality strategy by facilitating connections and forums to raise awareness and progress delivery.
Lead by example and share learning from managing serious incidents under the Patient Safety Incident Reporting Framework (PSIRF) and Learning from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE).
Work with the Primary Care Quality Improvement team to identify areas to incorporate quality improvement methodologies in primary care to ensure the provision of care to the right patients and service users at the right time by the right staff.
Analytical
Awareness of risks to the borough programmes and ensure that escalation processes are followed.
Provide coordination of and lead relevant meetings, reporting attendance and providing information advice and support where requested.
Ensure that data collected is analysed, reported as appropriate and monitor the processing of data and information.
Communications and Engagement
Support co-production as a way of working ensuring the key aspects of the workstream are developed with service users and experts by experience.
Maintain clear and effective lines of communication at all levels with stakeholders.
