The NW London Medicines and Pharmacy team are involved in leading quality and value focussed projects with system partners across our diverse population which includes many of the most challenged, deprived and vulnerable communities in the country. The NW London Integrated Care System (ICS) covers the eight boroughs of NW London and brings together all health and care organisations working to deliver against the four core national objectives of ICSs, which include improving outcomes in population health and health care, tackling inequalities in outcomes, enhancing productivity and value for money and helping the NHS support broader economic and social development. The NW London Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the statutory NHS organisation, and employer, responsible for developing a plan for meeting the health needs of the population, managing the NHS budget and arranging for the provision of health services in NW London. In NW London the ICB is known publicly as NHS NW London and is the employer for this role.

North West London Integrated Care Board (ICB) has secured funding to 31.03.2024 from the Pharmacy Integration Fund for the post of Community Pharmacy Integration project manager to support the implementation, integration and assurance of community pharmacy clinical services within North West London Integrated Care System (ICS).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with the ICS primary care commissioning and pharmacy teams, colleagues within NHS Trusts and other key stakeholders (e.g. LPC, LPN, AHSN) and be responsible for leading projects that support the clinical governance and operational delivery of community pharmacy clinical services.

The post holder will work with national, regional and system colleagues and teams to help NHSE to get the best value from community pharmacy programmes and services by providing clinical expertise to support pharmacy integration pilots and projects and to embed new clinical services to fully realise their potential.

This is an important role which offers an exciting opportunity to experience a diverse role and would suit someone who is friendly, determined and delivery focussed, and is keen to collaborate across organisational boundaries and sectors.

You will need to be a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills who is able to create effective working relationships with a broad range of people. We are looking for an enthusiastic project manager with excellent knowledge of Pharmacy who is committed to making a difference in a newly formed team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Given the breadth and cross-system nature of community pharmacy clinical services, the Community Pharmacy Integration Project Manager role has been developed to undertake some immediate implementation actions, to enable the roll out, uptake and embedding of new and recently commissioned clinical services. The role will promote an integrated approach to implementation and improvement of referral pathways into community pharmacy services (e.g. NHS Discharge Medicines Service and Smoking Cessation Advanced Service). As such the post-holder will be required to lead on the mobilisation and the local implementation of a national programme of work that will support delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan.

The Project Manager will work alongside the Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead in North West London working closely with the London Regional Pharmacy Integration Lead. The post-holder will report to the Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead, deputising as required.
