Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join NHS North West London Integrated Care Board.
The role will support the Senior Financial Controller in providing robust financial accounting support to NHS NWL in the achievement of their financial duties and the delivery of value for money. The role will provide support to the finance team to ensure effective deployment of resources to manage priorities, support the development of effective and efficient systems and processes and provide technical support and advice to NWL finance staff.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities of the role include:Maintain processes in place to manage cash and to ensure cash limits are not exceeded.Provide input into financial accounting returns and ensure deadlines for submission are met.Provide input into statutory annual accounts and ensure deadlines for submission are metTo support the development of efficient and effective processes within the ICB finance function.To support the management of internal and external audit requirements of the ICB.To provide regular feedback on any issues concerning the SBS contract on behalf of NWL and suggest solutions.To ensure effective staff management processes are in place - including performance assessment and PDPs.To take a support role to ensure internal systems, controls and processes are robust and fully documented.To maintain a high level understanding of the designated financial accounting positions / specific issues to ensure that provided services are tailored to meet requirements.
The post holder will work closely with other members of the Senior Finance Team as well as the relevant programme teams within the ICB, our External and Internal Auditors and NHSE. It requires an individual with extensive healthcare financial expertise, sound financial and analytical skills and an innovative approach to solving financial problems
