Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our
award-winning team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance and expand your
skillset by leading the review and development of guidelines, policies, and
associated formularies for specific clinical areas that have a far-reaching
impact across Suffolk and North East Essex. You will also have the chance to
become a clinical expert for these areas and provide valuable support across

growth with support from colleagues within the team alongside our partners.
As part of this role, you will work closely with a selection of GP
practices to identify areas for clinical and cost improvements within
prescribing utilising data analysis and your knowledge of current local and
national guidelines to help identify these opportunities. You will be
responsible for nurturing positive relationships with these practices, managing
any issues that may arise, and working collaboratively with them to achieve
better outcomes in terms of cost, quality, and safety.

Main duties of the job
1.
Actively participate in the development,
implementation, and delivery of Alliance and ICB QIPP plans, considering the
whole patient pathway to identify the potential for additional savings to be
achieved through admission avoidance, reduction in healthcare professional time
etc. This will include devising complex and detailed project plans and
co-ordinating large-scale projects across the ICB footprint.
2.
Be an active participant in the ICB Prescribing
Clinical Reference Group
3.
Lead on one or more QIPP projects and support
implementation of the QIPP plan at place.
4.
Support the development and implementation of guidelines
and policies in response to NICE or NHS England publications and directives
such as new/revised clinical guidelines, low priority prescribing and
self-care.
5.
Support the implementation of NICE Technology
Appraisals in primary care, within the stipulated timeframe.

- Professional knowledge acquired through vocational masters degree in pharmacy plus 1 year pre-registration training
- Post graduate qualification in pharmacy or equivalent experience
- Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable
- Leadership qualification.
- Specialist knowledge acquired through non-medical independent prescribing qualification (nb. no prescribing will be undertaken as part of this role)
