An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Manager to support on a range of duties to the Nursing & Quality directorate. The role oversees the day-to-day organisation of the directorate, planning and managing the Executive Chief Nursing Officer and Directors of Nursing diaries and facilitating delivery. Providing high quality confidential PA and administration support to the core team and Executive Director, the post holder will also hold responsbility for managing the administration team within the directorate, and co-ordinating a wide variety of meetings and events on behalf of the Executive Chief Nursing Officer.

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and committed individual who is a self-starter, highly experienced in administration with a proactive approach and able to adapt to new ideas and ways of working as they support the delivery of the directorate ambitions.

Main duties of the job

This role is responsible for providing high quality business management support to the Executive Chief Nursing Officer and ensuring the effective delivery of related programmes and projects. You will be the first point of contact for the directorate and will require a high level of initiative and organisational skills.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proven track record for working alongside senior leaders preferably in the NHS or similar public body.

As Business Manager, you will be required to:

Provide high quality, confidential EA and administrative support including complex diary and inbox management to the Executive Chief Nursing Officer.

Decide on the most appropriate course of action in relation to a wide range of documents, reports and correspondence; drafting replies as necessary.

Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Provide comprehensive secretariat support to a number of different boards and meetings.

Manage a variety of different projects as required.

Responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the directorate.

The ICS has a bold ambition to deliver improved outcomes for our 1.2m population through our four Alliances, and we are placing clinical and professional leadership and the voice of our residents at the heart of realizing this ambition.

This post-holder will ensure effective delivery of related programmes, providing high quality business management support, supporting key committees and programmes. The post holder will work closely with senior officers and clinicians across the Partnership to ensure delivery. They will have responsibility for management of delegated budgets. There may also be direct line management of other staff. This will be agreed locally.

  • Understand the overall priorities of the Directorate, interpreting these priorities by planning and managing the diary and facilitating delivery.

  • Be responsible for providing project and administrative support to key committees and groups as needed.
  • Collate and undertake specific research as required to support the directorate and assist in the assimilation and interpretation of national guidance and information as required.
  • Provide support to information and communication activities, supporting the on-going management of relationships with stakeholders.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive set of systems to support the effective running of the directorate and all corresponding communications.
  • Develop key working relationships to help support and develop the business of the directorate and to play an active part in developing and achieving a culture of performance improvement.
  • Management of a small number of staff.
  • Contribute to the delivery of one or more strategic plans, enabling key milestones to be delivered and raising any issues associated with the delivery of plans and workstreams.
