This
role sits within Mid and South Essex ICB and will require working closely with
the Education Teams across the ICS. Working within the Brentwood site the post
holder will be responsible to ensure appropriate training equipment, materials
and facilities are available for teaching and clinical skills training
sessions.
You will support the Clinical Leads and Educators to deliver a high-quality
education service across the ICS providing help, assistance, and advice to
staff both internal and external to the department. The candidate must be
confident meeting people and be customer focused on their approach whilst
supporting the ICS ensuring the smooth running of training sessions across
educational pathways.
This
role will provide effective and efficient technical and training support to
students and colleagues. Prepare evidence based clinical skills teaching plans
in collaboration with the teaching team, including a catalogue of equipment
needed for each clinical skills teaching session. Ensure teaching and learning
facilities are prepared and fit for purpose in line with the clinical skills
teaching plans.
Will also be required to work at Brentwood Community hospital.
Secondment until 31 March 2025.
Main duties of the job
- Provide technical training and the development of modes of simulated practice within a simulated clinical environment.
- To ensure training equipment and facilities are prepared for use, (including multi-media system and clinical equipment), checked they are in working order and secured at the end of the programme.
- Support staff and students, in the use of clinical equipment e.g., portable patient simulators, defibrillators, vital signs monitors.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects within the clinical skills environment e.g., Health & Safety, registers, preparing for skills sessions across several pathways.
- Prepare, set up, demonstrate, and operate specialist equipment/materials as required.
- Manage and maintain clinical equipment, organising repairs, servicing, or safe disposal.
- Ensuring that the clinical skills rooms and areas are fit for purpose and ready for use
- Responsible for managing expenditure on clinical skills equipment and consumables
- Devise and implement an effective maintenance strategy for equipment and software.
- Manage and maintain stock control for consumables and equipment.
- Identify, rationalise, specify, source, and install new teaching and learning facilities, including software, suitable for the delivery of clinical skills teaching sessions.
- Utilise expertise in new or on-going projects as may be reasonably required e.g., commissioning of equipment for the clinical skills facilities.
