The Health and Care
Academy Manager role sits within the system workforce function of the People
directorate of the ICB and is responsible for leading on the development of our
Health and Care Academy. The people function oversees the delivery of the 10 people
functions, working with the ICP, in order to implement local and national
people priorities and expectations, including those set out in the People Plan,
to develop and support the one workforce and make the health and care system a
better place to work and live.
We are recruiting
to a Health and Care Academy Manager to lead on the creation and
implementationof collaborative and innovative pre-employment programmes
across the system, designed to attract local people into health and care
careers, through work with schools, colleges, local enterprise partnerships and
local communities. In addition, the post holder will support the development
and implementation of a system apprenticeship strategy, working with the system
Apprenticeship Lead to utilise the apprenticeship levy to create innovative
development opportunities for staff. You will also lead on the development of a
consistent system approach to managing talent and enabling and supporting
people working across the system to develop and grow in their roles, to support
social mobility and the potential for lifelong careers across health and care.
This is a remote
role with travel across mid and south Essex (office working available).
Main duties of the job
You will be leading
the development of our system Health and Care Academy alongside existing Talent
for Care Teams and the wider ICB Workforce Transformation team, to deliver a
high standard of programme management, supporting the delivery of several ICS workforce
programme agendas. This will include the Delivery of accessible pre-employment programmes across the system,
supporting the development and implementation of virtual training programmes
and being responsible for the development and maintenance of the ICS staff
platform and public careers website. With
this in mind you will be required to contribute to setting long term strategy ensuring the aims and objectives
of the organisation/system are embedded and progressively built upon within the
setting of the strategy, as well as taking responsibility for the
implementation of one or more plans which align to this strategy. You will
manage a small team and be responsible for a large budget.
