An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual to join the finance team at Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care Board (C&P ICB) as a Deputy Head of Finance. Responsible for leading the acute and non acute contracts finance team, you will be part of a friendly and supportive team within the wider finance function. Acute and non acute contracts encompasses 75% (or £1.4bn) of ICB budgets and includes acute and independent sector providers, continuing healthcare, mental health and community services.
C&P ICB Finance Team is committed to training and development and has achieved One NHS Finance Accreditation Level One and is working towards level two. There is also an option for Flexible Working - all requests for flexible and part time working will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be presented with a rare opportunity to develop their skills and make a real difference to the quality of care provided to our patients. As a valued member of the team, you will be expected to:
Line manage the ICB staff within the four areas of the function, providing them with guidance, advice and leadership on their areas of work.
Provide financial advice and support to a range of services, directorates, functions, including but not limited to:
Financial advice to inform better decision-making, budget management and adherence to National policies,
Financial presence at an early stage of developmental discussions,
A consistent finance contact and link between clinical, commissioning and operational staff and the finance function,
Development of close working relationships with Executives, Clinicians and other ICB, ICS and Provider staff to facilitate joint working,
Lead on specific areas of work across the health economy in line with the financial strategy, local planning priorities and the NHS Long Term Plan
