Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
CCG is co-terminus with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough STP and will become
part of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care System by 1st April
2022. The system is committed to addressing Health Inequalities as its first
priority and a new CCG Health Inequalities Team has come into post to support
this system-wide work. The system has considerable research strengths and is
developing population health management approaches.The CCG wishes to appoint a
healthcare public health consultant who can work across the system to maximise
improvements in population health and inequality reduction through evidence-based
outcome improvement techniques.This role sits in the Medical
Directorate and will have close links to both the Research Management and
Governance team, the Clinical Lead Team and the Health Inequalities Team that
form the other teams in the Directorate.The post holder will manage an Outcomes
Improvement Manager and a Research Officer.
This is a permanent
role, 30 hours a week, salary range £62,553 to £72,309 per annum.
(AfC terms if non
medic and Consultant contract if medically qualified).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be adept at
analysing complex problems and using best data and evidence to describe
possible solutions. They will be able to work with multiple diverse
stakeholders.
They will have technical expertise in healthcare
public health but also be able to carry out health promotion and health
protection work in the health system where needed.

- Inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists
- If included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List in a specialty other than public health medicine/dental public health, candidates must have equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health medicine practice
- Public health specialist registrar and specialist trainee applicants who are not yet on the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List in dental public health/UKPHR must provide verifiable signed documentary evidence that they are within 6 months of gaining entry at the date of interview ; all other applicants must provide verifiable signed documentary evidence that they have applied for inclusion in the GMC/GDC/UKPHR specialist registers [see shortlisting notes below for additional guidance]
- Applicants must meet minimum CPD requirements (i.e. be up to date) in accordance with Faculty of Public Health requirements or other recognised body
