Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the contracts team for a 12 month secondment for senior contracts manager. The post holder will support managers and staff across the ICB to manage the interface with providers and ICBs for all aspects of contract management and provide excellent relationship management.
The successful applicant will be able to recommend next steps, lead and facilitate the actions to resolve complex scenarios and issues, work well within a team in a fast paced environment and the ability to work independently is essential. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work flexibly and the ability to motivate others. We are looking for an individual to manage a portfolio of contracts, covering a variety of different contracts.
The contracts team are responsible for creating contracts, managing the day to day provider and contract management of over 350 providers. You will work closely with other directorates including commissioners, finance, and quality to ensure that the right conversations and measures are in place to maintain the quality of commissioned services.
Main duties of the job
The post requires an experienced, dynamic, and proactive individual with excellent team working and leadership skills to work within a supportive team. The post holder will have line management for individual/s in the team. The senior contract manager will work closely with partners to negotiate, agree, and manage those contracts and ensure they reflect the needs of the local population deliver service quality and make a real difference to health outcomes.
You should be comfortable with leading and managing a portfolio of contracts and others in the team across different workstreams/care programmes, building excellent and productive relationships with providers and ICB colleagues, managing the contracting cycle for your contracts, arranging, and chairing contract meetings, facilitating and leading complex and sensitive conversations between internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will also support on escalations, manage complex issues to successful resolution and lead on papers and projects as required.
