Job summary
As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse with extensive knowledge of the children in care and care leaver agenda to join our well-established, highly functioning and supportive safeguarding team.
The succcesful candidate will have strategic vision and support the statutory Designated Nurses on all aspects of children and young people with care experience across the Birmingham and Solihull system.
This role is aimed at those wanting to progress in a career with focus on children in care, care leavers and safeguarding.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be exposed to working at a strategic level across Birmingham and Solihull, closely supported by the Designated statutory roles for Children in Care and the wider safeguarding team. Whilst this will be aligned closely with the work of the Designated Nurse for Children in Care, there is an expectation that the post holder will be required to provide expert children in care and safeguarding advice, when necessary, therefore previous experience is vital.
Effective liaison and communication is an integral part of this role which will include regular contacts with others by telephone, video conference and face to face meetings. An ability to analyse and present complex information in a variety of mediums is essential. You will also require excellent organisational skills and a sound, working knowledge of MS office packages such as Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

- Master's degree (or evidence of substantial relevant continuing professional development)
