We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager role within Birmingham and Solihull System Coordination Centre (SCC), a team dedicated to delivering high quality patient care, effectively managing risk and tackling heath inequalities across the system.
As the Senior SCC Manager, you will be responsible for Assuring, Developing and Leading the entire output of the UEC SCC. You will undertake a range of tasks that ensure that efficient and effective pathways are created and maintained in a range of areas, such as patient flow, transfer of patient care, escalation management and other operational issues. The Senior SCC Manager will represent the ICB to external partners, NHS England and other senior positions and will need to be able to manage projects as well as create clear strategies for the implementation of change that supports joined up working for UEC and flow improvements.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing system Tactical support and resilience across BSOL on a day-to-day basis, including:
- Monitoring key operational, clinical and quality metrics via a range of dashboards to swiftly identify deterioration in UEC performance across the system and escalate where required
- Ensuring system assurance is established through clear actions and pre-set targets
- Ensuring that patient safety and wellbeing is being considered at all times of increased system pressure
- Support in the identification of opportunities for service developments and innovation
As the Senior SCC Manager, you will also be responsible for:
- Understanding and operating in a highly political and sensitive environment
- Providing strategical oversight to the overall function
- Managing and delegating a programme of work for all SCC staff, both Strategic and Operational
- Be the key point of contact for for high OPEL level escalation responses, in line with OPEL level action cards.Facilitate strategic discussion between system partners, to promote system coordination and delivery of patient care
- Oversea the implementation of governance, updating policy and procedures, in line with best practise.
- Influence decision making at the highest level, with appropriate and actionable data, that can be used in improvement cycles, budgeting and staffing
- Work with other UEC managers, to ensure team synergy across the department
