Job summary

Birmingham and Solihull ICB Digital Team have an exciting opportunity for a full time Project Manager who is enthusiastic about the prospect of improving the lives of patients through digital health technology.

The NHS Long-Term Plan recognises that primary care needs to be digitally transformed in order for patients to have improved access to quality care. By 2023/24 Digital First primary care will become a new option for every patient in England, improving fast access to convenient primary care.

The Digital Team are currently involved in a range of leading edge transformation projects such as Digital First, Cloud based telephony, digitalisation of Lloyd George records and new market entrants for GP Clinical Systems.

The post holder will be involved in and responsible for the management of the Medical Records Digitisation and GP data projects.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible as the Project Manager for delivery and management of digital projects GP Data and Medical Records Digitisation.

You will be required to communicate and provide highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will need to work in close partnership with service users, key stakeholders and commissioners including PCN, Practice, ICS and public.

Job responsibilities

The Job holder will be accountable for:

  • Overall lead responsibility for project delivery to the Digital Programmeboard escalating issues to the senior responsible officer as required.
  • To ensure an effective change control and decision process across theprojects providing effective and auditable logs of such decisions made.
  • Implement project plans to deliver change through facilitation, engagement of stakeholders, diagnosis, planning, consultation, project management, capacity, demand and activity analysis, performance management, service specification and use of contracting and procurement processes to ensure the improvements and sustainable sharing of good practice at all levels.
  • Manage a broad range of change projects including service re-design and transformation which drive quality improvements.
  • Project management expertise with flexibility to ensure maximumproductivity of resources and minimum disruption to care.
  • Manage projects against current ICB standards and guidelines, including the use of AGILE/PRINCE2 where appropriate. Produce project documentation against current NHS and Trust standards and guidelines.
  • To support the identification and sharing of best practice.
  • Demonstrating value for money for the current spend through tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits.
  • Development of Project Initiation Documents and Implementation Plans and Stage Plans in conjunction with other internal departments, external suppliers and their respective subcontracted suppliers, and other suppliers.
  • Defining Project standards and metrics for performance and overall success criteria, including Benefits realisation, patient satisfaction and overall project delivery.
  • Ensuring that the appropriate operational readiness measurements are undertaken for each stage of the Programme or Project.
  • Ensuring that Implementation plans are prepared.
  • Responsible for ensuring all delivery products are appropriately tested and evaluated prior to acceptance by users.
