Job summary
Within SEL ICB and specifically in the Bromely Health and Care Partnership, 'One Bromley' we have an opportunity to appoint a full-time designated clinical officer who will lead the provision of a high quality, safe, effective and professional SEND function, capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements for Bromley.
The SEND Designated Clinical Officer (DCO) will lead the support to Bromely as part of the Integrated Care system central this will be the requirement to work collaboratively with partners in the local system to ensure that they meet their statutory duties for children and young people, aged 0 25 years, with special educational needs and disability. The post holder will act as a strategic and operational lead for the Education, Health and Care Plan Pathway in accordance with the Childrens and Families Act 2014.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key strategic lead across the SEND system, an advocate of best practise as outlined in the SEND Code of Practise 2014, as well other relevant relevant national, system and local guidance, mandate regarding the improvement fo SEND provision within the Bromley locality.
The post holder will work closely with the Integrated Care Board's (ICB) Associate Director, Heads of Commissioning, Bromley Council's Director of Children's Services, Director of Education and other colleagues to secure excellent outcomes for children and young people in Bromley.The post holder will be required to work jointly with a range of different partner organisations across Education, Health and Social Care in Bromley
- There are 4 key areas of responsibility
- Providing an advisory role in relation to the SEND reforms
- Supporting process, coordination and communication
- Working jointly with partner organisations to support the strategic leadership of the local area SEND improvement agenda
- Supporting the engagement and development of the Bromley SEND workforce.
