We are looking for a dynamic
individual to support us in the delivery of our Clinical Pathway Programme.
This programme of work would ideally suit a cancer nurse, pharmacist or allied
health professional (AHP) interested in project work and making system wide
improvements to Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) pathways, delivering care
closer to home as well as ensuring patients experience personalised cancer
care and improvements in access to prehabilitation across the Alliance.
Thames Valley Cancer Alliance
is a partnership that brings together leaders from different hospital trusts,
GPs and primary care, health and social organisations, covering a population of
nearly 1.8 million people. Our aim is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and
care for cancer patients in our local area.
We are seeking to recruit a
Programme Manager to join our innovative and transformative team. The post
holder will work closely with the Clinical Lead for Cancer Nursing and AHPs to
deliver projects supporting personalised cancer care and treatment variation
including the Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) project.
Main duties of the job
The
post holder will work as part of the TVCA team in delivering the Cancer
Alliances objectives and priorities identified within the NHS Englands cancer
plan. The post holder will lead a programme to deliver projects that drive
quality service improvement and promote excellence in cancer care. Key working
relationships will include NHS England, primary and secondary care and
voluntary sector organisations along with all staff delivering care to people
affected by cancer. The post holder will have leadership and analytical skills,
betechnically
competent, give attention to detail, and work collaboratively with effective
communication skills across the system.

a natural ability to engage and collaborate with varied stakeholders and
continue to improve the health and wellbeing of our population.

The Clinical Pathway manager will support the delivery of the NHS England Cancer NHS Long term plan and national operational guidance to understand treatment variation, Systemic Anti Cancer Treatments (SACT) delivery and personalised care in cancer services across the Thames Valley Cancer Alliance (TVCA). The role will work closely with Trusts, the TVCA pathway managers and the clinical advisory group leads for specific tumour sites delivering national priorities on treatment variation, SACT and Personalised Care. The role will also support the delivery of SACT project with a system approach to deliver recommendations of our capacity, demand and workforce report. This includes delivering care closer to home and making quality improvements to SACT services across the alliance.
The role will also support reporting on the personalised care workstream including data collection, prehabilitation and psychology services. Scoping and delivering on alliance agreed requirements will be a priority.
Development of mutually agreed project plans with Project Management Office (PMO) monthly and quarterly reporting against objectives and milestones using appropriate project management tools is essential.
The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service.
The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
