Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic individual to support us in the delivery of our Treatment and Care Programme. This programme of work would ideally suit a cancer nurse, pharmacist or allied health professional (AHP) interested in project work and making system wide improvements to Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) pathways, delivering care closer to home as well as ensuring patients experience personalised cancer care and improvements in access to prehabilitation across the Alliance.

Thames Valley Cancer Alliance is a partnership that brings together leaders from different hospital trusts, GPs and primary care, health and social organisations, covering a population of nearly 1.8 million people. Our aim is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care for cancer patients in our local area.

We are seeking to recruit a Programme Manager to join our innovative and transformative team. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical lead for Cancer Nursing and AHPs to deliver projects supporting personalised cancer care and treatment variation including a Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) project.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the TVCA team in delivering the Cancer Alliances objectives and priorities identified within the NHS Englands cancer plan. The post holder will lead a programme to deliver projects that drive quality service improvement and promote excellence in cancer care. Key working relationships will include NHS England, primary and secondary care and voluntary sector organisations along with all staff delivering care to people affected by cancer. The post holder will have leadership and analytical skills, be technically competent, give attention to detail, and work collaboratively with effective communication skills across the system.
