Job summary

As part of hosting arrangements, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB) is seeking to appoint a Managing Director for the Thames Valley Cancer Alliance (TVCA), to lead a multidisciplinary team in whole system planning and delivery of cancer care across the Thames Valley footprint.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will lead on the strategic plans for cancer to sustainably meet the ambitions of the long-term plan for cancer, working closely with providers and other system partners to support the effective delivery of cancer pathways. Key functions will include planning and program delivery to ensure delivery of national priorities, as well as providing oversight and leadership on the implementation and delivery of specified national programmes and pilots such as e.g. Targeted Lung Health Checks.

In the heart of the Thames Valley is our Integrated Care Board (ICB). It covers the geography across three counties and goes in line with the local authority boundaries of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Reading, West Berkshire and Wokingham. Ensure the development and management of plans, within the Alliance.

  • Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
  • Significant evidence of continued professional development.
  • Member of a relevant professional body.

  • Demonstrated expertise in a Healthcare environment.
  • Significant management experience at senior level in the NHS or other public healthcare related industry.
