and Berkshire West (BOB) ICS Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead
BOB ICB is looking for a pharmacy
leader with vision and exceptional engagement and integration skills to join
our friendly BOB pharmacy leadership team.
This role is an exciting
opportunity for the postholder to provide strategic and operational leadership
to our community pharmacy workforce and they will be key in the promotion of
community pharmacy’s role in achieving the objectives of the ICS.
The
postholder will have experience of community pharmacy and lead on the integration
of community pharmacy within our system. They will be responsible for development,
implementation, assurance and clinical governance of community
pharmacy clinical services in BOB; working in collaboration with PCN Clinical Directors, ICB commissioning teams, medicines
optimisation teams and colleagues within NHS Trusts and other organisations
(e.g. LPC, AHSN) to support the integration of community pharmacy clinical
services within local clinical pathways
Main duties of the job
The Community Pharmacy Clinical Leads will be responsible
for implementation, assurance and clinical governance of community pharmacy
clinical services and any clinical service pilots or developmental work. These
will be locally owned roles shaped by each ICS, with Community Pharmacy
Clinical Leads having responsibility for:

Leadership of integration activities to promote
community pharmacy’s role and the importance of pharmaceutical services in an
ICS;
Informing transformation plans for their ICS with
respect to community pharmacy clinical services;
Working in collaboration with PCN Clinical
Directors, pharmacy contract management teams, medicines optimisation teams and
colleagues within NHS Trusts and other organisations (e.g. LPC, AHSN) to
support the integration of clinical pathways with community pharmacy clinical
services;
Working closely with pharmacy contract
management teams to ensure appropriate clinical governance of
community pharmacy services is in place across the ICS; providing oversight to
the management of clinical incidents.

As a senior lead, work internally and
externally to deliver projects, initiatives and services to time and in a
cost-effective way.
To support the identification and sharing of
best practice across all sectors of pharmacy to support community pharmacy service
improvement.
Support the portfolio of national and regional
programmes/projects at a system level in demonstrating value for money
tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits.
Provide specialist advice and prepare strategic
reports and briefings for directors, regional teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications
Essential
- Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician registered with GPhC
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
- Proven and significant leadership experience and/or formal management qualification.
- Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
- Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHSE and individual provider and commissioning organisations
- Member of relevant professional body.
- Knowledge and experience of the pharmacy processes across hospital, primary care and community pharmacy.
- Experience of successfully implementing pharmacy services in any setting.
