Job summary
An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled qualified nurse to join
the dynamic and progressive Safeguarding Team at NHS West Yorkshire
Integrated Care Board (WYICB) Bradford place as a Specialist Health
Practitioner for Safeguarding Children and Adults.
The
Bradford place safeguarding team works in conjunction with the wider
safeguarding teams across the West Yorkshire ICB and support the WY ICB
consolidated safeguarding team to deliver its core purpose and functions. The
successful candidate will work as a member of the Place based and wider ICB
safeguarding team, with a specific focus on safeguarding children and adults
across primary care.
The
successful applicant will hold a relevant first level degree in a
professionally related subject or equivalent and will have a in depth
experience of safeguarding children and adults within health care and
multi-agency settings.
Main duties of the job
The
post holder will be required to work collaboratively with the Named GPs and GP
Practice Safeguarding Leads, to support the development of safeguarding
children and adults practice. Important aspects of the role will include
supporting the development of safeguarding children and adults related training
for ICB and Primary Care, facilitating projects to support relevant
safeguarding quality improvement and quality assurance within Primary Care,
acting as a resource, providing specialist safeguarding children and adults
advice and support to primary care practitioners and staff. The post holder
will support coordination of the primary care contribution to statutory
safeguarding related reviews such as Domestic Homicide Reviews, Safeguarding
Children Practice Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews.
Applicants will need to demonstrate in depth knowledge of
the legislative, policy and procedural context of safeguarding children,
safeguarding adults and domestic and sexual violence at individual,
organisational and system level. The ability to assess, analyse and make
decisions on complex information and situations is essential. The successful
applicant will be required to adopt a flexible approach to managing their
workload and will be required to be a good team player, with excellent
communication skills and experience of working with multi-agency partners. You
