Job summary

This is a key role for the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board [ICB] in the Kirklees place and across the Kirklees Health and Care Partnership.

It plays a leading role in ensuring the delivery of a communications and involvement service for the Kirklees ICB, including the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.

Importantly the post holder will play a leading role in helping us establish and embed our communications and involvement approaches across our Kirklees Health and Care Partnership as set out in our new Partnership Communications and Involvement Strategy.

You will help inspire and lead our team to work in a proactive, innovative, and collaborative ways that anticipate and respond to the current and future needs of our partnership and the people of Kirklees. You will have a solid professional understanding of communications and involvement, and a real drive for partnership working and helping to improve outcomes for the people of Kirklees. You will also work in partnership with colleagues across the NHS West Yorkshire ICB and in other places in West Yorkshire.

The role is based in the Kirklees place within the West Yorkshire ICB, and our offices are in the centre of Huddersfield. It reports into the Director of Partnership Development for Kirklees.

Main duties of the job

You will play an active part in shaping and embedding new structures and ways of working for our ICB and across our health and care partnership.

This will involve leading projects across our place and working closely with communications and involvement teams in our partner organisations including NHS Trusts, local authority, and community organisations.

You will manage our dedicated team, prioritise workload and ensure delivery of objectives. You will coordinate and deliver all aspects of internal and external, stakeholder relations, engagement, and involvement for the NHS in Kirklees and support communications and involvement activities for the Kirklees partnership.

You will support and contribute to the development and implementation of our strategic priorities and transformation programmes. Providing advice, guidance, and specialist support to senior leaders on all aspects of communications, PR, media, campaigns and involvement.

Keeping up to date with emerging policy, new approaches and methodologies in the fields of communications, involvement, stakeholder relations, digital, creative, and marketing.

  • Extensive experience in a communications role dealing with highly sensitive and complex issues, incidents and enquiries
