Job summary
This
is an exciting opportunity to join the Health Foundation funded Networked Data
Lab (NDL) team in the Leeds Office of Data Analytics (ODA). Through successful
partnership with the Health Foundation this team has delivered insight on key
population groups. This post holder will have the opportunity to develop and
deliver innovative approaches to data analysis and share the insights they
generate with partners nationally and locally.
The
successful candidate should have a first-class track record in innovative data
analytic research, an excellent understanding of health service research and
policy, and a willingness to work as part of a team. Previous experience
writing for a range of audiences (including peer reviewed publication),
adapting and responding to new opportunities, and working quickly to tight
deadlines is essential for success in this role.
The role is Leeds based with opportunity for hybrid
and home working.
Main duties of the job
The
post holder will manage a team to develop and lead the NDL data science
function. Working collaboratively with analytical teams across the UK to
address shared challenges facing health and care systems by providing high
quality statistical analytical insights from routine health and care data. The
team work on a yearly cycle, collaborating with partners and the Health
Foundation to select a topic based on local and national priorities.
About us
The
Leeds Office of Data Analytics (ODA) is part of the Leeds Integrated Digital
Service supporting the West Yorkshire ICB in Leeds, Leeds City Council and
partner organisations. The ODA provides a data management and analysis
capability to these partner organisations. The NDL team use up to date
analytical techniques to better understand the needs (met and unmet) of the
population of Leeds.
The Leeds Networked Data Lab is a fundamental part of
the data science function we are developing with the Health Foundation, local academia
and partner organisations. Leeds ODA is uniquely placed to do this with secure
access to data and intelligence across health and the local authority, and a
strong history in the development and use of linked health and care data sets.

design an analytical programme of work, agree timelines and deliver the
analysis to the agreed timelines. They will lead development of local data
assets and analytical skills required to support this work; oversee the sharing
of code to the Networked Data Lab chosen repositories and disseminate the
findings of the analysis to local decision makers and stakeholders. The post
holder will support engagement with local stakeholders to align national and
local priority topics for analysis.
