Job summary

The Integrated Care Board in Leeds (ICB in Leeds) is looking for an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Leeds Office of Data Analytics (ODA). The ODAs vison is by using data and insights we can intelligently describe the position in Leeds and use predictive analysis to shape the future outcomes in the city. This essential and varied analytical role will support the business intelligence needs of the organisation and the Leeds Health and Care Partnership including service and activity areas such as Primary Care, Long Term Conditions, Cancer, Mental Health, System Flow, Planned and Unplanned Care amongst others. Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

Use experience in the business intelligence sector to develop routine analyses and standard reporting to support ICB functions in commissioning, performance reporting, and project planning.

Apply knowledge and experience of proven statistical and analytical techniques across these workstreams.

Have the ability to work seamlessly across information systems, including Microsoft Excel, SQL and Power BI.

Provide specialist support through the delivery of insight and intelligence from the many varied data sources available to the ICB.

Manage relationships with service teams, ensuring that need is understood, and a business intelligence plan is developed and implemented to support the service area.

Support the Senior Business Information Manager in developing proactive analyses and new ways of working.

Be versatile in operating across the customer base of the ODA where required to meet intelligence needs of the city.

The post holder should ideally hold a degree in a relevant topic and have experience in the delivery of business intelligence, preferably within a health care setting. The post holder should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to form professional relationships and influence management based upon intelligence insight.

Leeds ODA is a fast-paced and in-demand team, so staff are required to be able to work confidently and autonomously, prioritising workloads to ensure strict deadlines are met.

The business intelligence elements of the team focus on supporting all commissioning areas of the ICB including unplanned care, system flow, childrens and maternity and episodic/ planned care. The post holder will be expected to have a wider knowledge of all ICB functions with a working knowledge of specific service areas within their remit.

The role is to provide analysis and solutions to support the management of the wider ICB, while also informing commissioning decisions day to day. The role will be responsible for maintaining strong links with services areas assigned to them, ensuring that the areas need is met and the product being offered is continually improved.

The post holder will provide specialist timely, accurate, relevant, and insightful information and intelligence in respect of activity and performance for a range of service areas. This may sometimes fall outside knowledge areas, requiring the post holder to quickly understand data sets and provide meaningful insights.

Provide analyses, dashboards, and reports on key areas in order to support operation and strategic delivery. This will involve receiving, analysing, and producing highly complex information, often within limited timeframes. Working to strict deadlines is therefore essential, often imposed due to national body reporting timelines.

Support the deployment and development of the ODAs reporting portfolio and health intelligence tool through promoting its usage within commissioning teams, providing insights for development and at times leasing with external developers to ensure content meets commissioning teams needs.

Communication of outputs to a wide range of statistical and non-statistical individuals and groups, both internal and external to the organisation will be required to ensure that the greatest benefit of products is felt. Lead on the production and development of insights and intelligence to support activity and performance reports. The individual will be required to take initiative to plan and organise the development of complex, statistical and intelligent reporting. Design, undertake and analyse surveys, research, and audits to support service strategy and business direction. Report back findings to key stakeholders and present to service areas offering tailored insights that the individual feels are of value.
