You will need knowledge and experience of programme management techniques, strong leadership qualities and experience of successfully managing stakeholders and resources to deliver organisational change. We value not only educational experience but work and lived experience too.
Main duties of the job
Short,
medium- and long-term operational planning of multiple highly complex change
programmes
Leading,
identifying, developing, and delivering strategic and operational priorities
Coordination
and delivery of multiple highly complex, and sometimes contentious, major
change projects
Identifying
critical relationships conscientiously, with care and through using negotiation
skills, diplomacy and tact, including those that are potentially complex and
politically sensitive
Acting
as a visual focal point and point of escalation for the function, connecting
with colleagues within the function, wider Partnership and external
stakeholders / organisations, always upholding the functions purpose and
vision.
Persuade
boards, senior leaders, clinical teams, decision-makers and stakeholders of the
importance of the function and the compelling case for change
Interpret
national policies and guidance to meet the needs of local people
Hold
fiscal responsibility for several projects / programmes of work, ensuring that
the budget is managed efficiently and sensibly
Develop
a culture that promotes equality and values diversity, comply with all the

As the Head of Long-Term
Conditions & Personalisation you will play an exciting and crucial role in
the operational and strategic delivery of the Long Term Conditions and
Personalisation function. The post holders responsibilities will, first and
foremost, include a leading role over the constituent programmes of the
function including Stroke, Diabetes, Personalised Care, Unpaid Carers and
Palliative and End of Life Care.
As a senior leader in the
function you will hold considerable autonomy in undertaking your duties but
report, take direction from and provide assurance to the Associate Director for

constructively challenge and act on behalf of the Associate Director, as well
as work alongside the leadership team of the function, supporting them and
their work.
Robust and refined programme
management skills will be critical to managing the portfolio of programmes in a
disciplined manner. This should include the post holder having an eye for
detail, knowledge and ability to implement programme management tools and
approaches, the ability to stay abreast of wide-ranging activity, and a
proficiency in distilling and translating complex information. This will ensure
that programmes are on-track and deliver measurable results for the people of
West Yorkshire and enable the use of a range of information to provide
assurance to senior leaders and various Partnership fora.
