As System Development Lead Experience, youll join a supportive and creative team committed to enabling the achievement of our exciting partnership ambitions.

Youll be able to bring your expertise and experience in leading projects, designing and delivering interventions to develop the experience and wellbeing of people who work with us.

There will also be opportunity to work with local and regional organisational and system development and wellbeing colleagues to support sharing and learning across West Yorkshire.

A strong track record of ability to deliver significant change at pace whilst maintaining an inclusive and facilitative approach is a must.

Coaching skills are essential for this role, along with political astuteness and experience of leading projects and interventions that are aimed at improving experience and wellbeing.

This exciting opportunity is a fixed-term opportunity commencing as soon as possible. Secondments also welcome with the permission from your line manager / organisation.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for leading on developing and delivering system wide projects aimed at enabling positive experience and wellbeing and support delivery of the WY People Plan

Provide specialist expertise, advice and delivery in OD practices including long term and large-scale system change, change programme design and facilitation, organisational diagnostics and design, analysis of group dynamics and processes

Engage with the national and regional NHS E/I team and form part of the national network of HWB leads

To influence and develop relationships with key stakeholders that support delivery of key objectives

Programme management and day to day running of complex projects

Evaluate use of resource against outcomes to include value for money, quality and tackling inequalities and monitor programme budgets

Line management of staff

Develop a culture that promotes equality and values diversity

Ensure the principles of openness, transparency and candor are observed and upheld in all working practices.

To lead and facilitate the scoping, development and delivery of experience, wellbeing and retention initiatives and programmes in order to deliver the agreed retention, experience and wellbeing goals.

To support the translation of national policy and plans such as the NHS People Plan into WY partnership local plans

Provide specialist expertise and advice in OD practices including long term and large scale system change, change programme design and facilitation, organisational diagnostics and design, analysis of group dynamics and processes.

Provide the OD input into the development and implementation of the ICBs strategy and business plans, policies and decision-making to improve performance and to embed system values and associated behaviours.

To research, share and be informed by best practice, nationally and internationally

To work with NEY and national NHSE/I colleagues to report and share progress and to explore opportunities and facilitate learning from colleagues across the region

To collaborate with the WY workforce leads and experience and wellbeing leads in our places to develop specific wellbeing offers for the system by the system; facilitating connection and learning

People Management and Leadership

  • Use of facilitation and coaching skills when working with colleagues to scope, develop and deliver projects and initiatives.
  • Day to day support and coaching of other team members and colleagues in wider network through active contribution of support and coaching to enable them to achieve their work goals
  • Line management of a project support officer including creating a supportive and inclusive working environment, role modelling what we are trying to achieve, ensuring objectives are agreed and support and direction is provided to achieve these and a personal development plan is developed.

Communication and Relationships

  • Prepare and deliver written and verbal reports/presentations, to a range of stakeholders at all levels in the system on highly complex, sensitive and contentious issues.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with all key stakeholders across partner organisations and with national and regional teams NHSE/I in the full range of sectors to influence, challenge and support delivery
  • Work with senior leaders to create an effective and positive culture.

.Planning and Organisation

  • To lead the development of project/programme plans, identifying interdependencies across projects/functions, potential impacts on wider partnership, resource requirements and building in contingency and adjustments as necessary specifically for retention, experience and wellbeing initiatives
  • To develop and lead on a range of plans/initiatives that underpin the long term strategic plan which will impact the wider system
  • To lead the development and delivery of performance, monitoring governance strategies, providing updates to People Board, System and Leadership development board and NHSE/I regional groups and forums

Financial and Physical Resources

  • Responsible for making recommendations, providing advice and able to prepare strategic reports/briefings for programme boards and other forums as required.
  • Monitoring and management of project/programme related devolved budgets in order to deliver agreed outcomes within agreed budget levels; recommending levels of budget allocation to get the best outcomes

Research and Development

  • To lead the development of an evaluation approach for measuring the impact of the enhanced occupational health projects working with stakeholders from universities and academic health science network to feed into learning regionally and nationally.
  • To plan, develop and evaluate methods and processes for gathering, analysing, interpreting and presenting data and information.
  • Develop key performance indicators for projects and monitor and manage progress towards delivery.
  • Co-ordinating Research & Development initiatives - research, share and be informed by best practice, nationally and internationally

Information Management

  • Prepare and deliver written and verbal reports/presentations, to a range of stakeholders at all levels of seniority on complex, sensitive and contentious issues.
  • To collate as required, qualitative and quantitative information and lead appropriate analysis to develop robust project plans and enable continual improvement and evaluation of project success and learning.
  • To analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues, risks and options to support decision making; advise on appropriate action

Physical Effort Accuracy and dexterity in the use of keyboards is a constant requirement. Occasional lifting of computer equipment and presentational equipment e.g. LCD Projectors and projection screens.

Mental Effort

Frequent and prolonged periods of concentration are required for up to 3 hours at a time. This is required for conducting Planning and Meetings.

Emotional Effort Occasional exposure to emotional circumstances when communicating contentious information to a range of stakeholders and organisations.

Working Conditions Post-holder is required to use computer / VDU for long periods of time. Frequent travel is required to attend meetings across sites.
