We have a fantastic opportunity
for a Cloud and Server Engineer to join our Leeds based team.
The Cloud and server Engineer will work in an Agile team where they
will technically own and support our production servers apprx 120 across
95 sites and maintain our Virtual platform, VPN service and SCCM/MECM service.
These are exciting and fast moving times for the
successful candidate as this role will become part of the Integrated Digital
Services (joint NHS and Leeds City Council) and have exposure to many leading
cloud storage and compute technologies .
Key requirements of the role :
Implementation experience with Azure cloud
environments
In-depth knowledge of Azure and Azure Networking
and Azure Active Directory
Good Understanding of Azure Resource Monitoring via
Azure Monitor and Application Insights
Good understanding of common performance management
tools and consoles - SolarWinds, vSphere, Advanced Threat Protection, SCCM and
LanSweeper
Methodical, reliable, and exceptional attention to
detail
Excellent communication skills both written and
verbal
Demonstrate working to tight timelines, under
pressure and delivering new and challenging technologies.
Main duties of the job
Be point of contact for Server based activities across the
corporate and clinical sites. Daily monitoring and support of of Domain
Controllers, Cloud Backup and Group policy design.
Work in a small group to define Windows 10 MECM deployments
and assist the cyber team in ensuring compliance of server and reducing surface
attach of end points.
Managing performance and capacity of a dedicated health
VMware platform and working with network resources to deliver a bespoke VPN
service to the organisations home workers.
Support the Technical and GPIT management team with local
and national infrastructure developments.
Assist in the planning and design of a 135site wide Wifi
redeployment using Meraki technology.

Leeds office of the NHS West Yorkshire ICB (ICB in Leeds) organises the delivery of services to
a population of around 870,000 people. Our key
challenges are to tackle health inequalities and unwanted variations in quality
of care and a growing elderly population with more long term conditions.
We are a key partner in the Leeds Health and Care
Partnership (NHS west Yorkshire ICB Board). As such, we work with a range of
partners to help us meet the objectives identified in the Five Year Forward
View. We want to build on the work we are doing with the Leeds Health and Care
Partnership (NHS west Yorkshire ICB Board), to deliver positive changes at a
local level. With a refined focus on matrix working and Population health
management we can look at local and regional solutions to the challenges that
face us and help us plan for the future, working closely with citizens in our
city.
The IDS infrastructure provides
expert-level IT technical support to over 11,000 clinical, council, and
administrative colleagues across multiple sites across Leeds district.
Together with the other IT teams
deliver a 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support
facility for all ICB/ICS IT users.
To ensure IT services and solutions
are appropriately and cost effectively designed and implemented to sufficiently
support the Organisations clinical and operational capability.
The role of Server Infrastructure Technical
Engineer is to maintain service capability for IDS infrastructure, specifically
in the area of Systems, Servers, Storage, Security, Complex Data,
Virtualisation and Datacentre Support. The position provides technical
expertise across a range of relevant IT technologies.
This role is both technical and
operational and will involve the day to day running of the IT support service
to agreed service levels and installation of new hardware and systems.
