Clinical Lead Nurse

Job summary

The Clinical Lead will support the Head of Department and their team to ensure effective planning, management, and successful delivery of continuing care programmes. The role is pivotal in standardising processes, ensuring transparency, and maintaining compliance with organisational and statutory requirements.

Main duties of the job

  • Expert in all matters in relation to All Age Continuing Healthcare (AACC) and NHS Funded Nursing Care expert.
  • Manage and expedite all verification and Duty responsibilities across the HWE footprint in relation to AACC.
  • Streamline and standardise the assessment, application, and access processes for NHS Continuing Care and NHS Funded Nursing Care.
  • Ensure processes are clear, consistent, and transparent within available resources and in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
  • Act as a key contact for continuing care service users and carers.

  • Registered Nurse (Adult or Mental Health) - with current registration
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Evidence of working knowledge of CHC
  • Excellent understanding of the current issues impacting on the NHS, governance, policy and an experience of its implications so as to interpret and communicate them locally
  • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of identifying and contributing to safeguarding concerns
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent

Desirable

  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at SMT level
