Job summary

NHS Somerset is looking to recruit a Band 5 Data Facilitator Assistant Officer to join the Digital team supporting General practices.

This post is designed to work closely with both the Digital and Primary Care Teams and facilitate the ongoing development and maintenance of the quality and accuracy of data in Primary Care. Liaising with digital team analysts to ensure the data flows are timely and accurate, and where this is not, liaising with the appropriate stakeholders to achieve this and resolve any issues.

This post will be managed by the Digital Data Lead Officer and Primary Care Commissioning Manager with the same shared focus and intent.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Support General Practice with Data concerns and investigations, liaising with the Digital and Primary Care teams
  • Responsible for ongoing support in establishing reports and processes that identify data quality issues and develop with the digital data team proposals to improve data quality and robustness
  • Assess that data is fit for purpose and can be accurately used for analysis and to escalate to the Primary Care Commissioning Manager and Digital Data Lead Officer where there is a data quality concern
  • Work with the wider organisation in ensuring that timely, validated and quality assured Primary Care information is supplied which meets the requirements for reporting and that any data anomalies are swiftly addressed with preventative actions put in place to prevent a reoccurrence
  • Provide point of contact for local and national teams to resolve and investigate data quality concerns
  • Review all national data flows relating the Primary Care data to ensure that the information being used internally is consistent with national reporting requirements, and where it is not, able to comprehensively explain the differences
  • Support the Digital and Primary Care commissioning teams in assuring the senior leadership team of data quality and being able to report upon findings and recommendations
