Job summary

NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is looking for a creative, dynamic and experienced digital communications professional to join our communications team.

Main duties of the job

Working with the Digital Communications Manager and the wider communications team, you will support with the management and development of our digital channels, including social media, websites and our staff intranet. You will play a key role in creating content and supporting communications team members as well as staff across the organisation to develop effective and engaging content for our digital channels.

The role is best suited to someone experienced in working with website CMS and analytics, and someone who has previously been responsible for creating and delivering digital content for social media channels. Applicants should have a keen eye for design, be excellent content creators and count effective writing as part of their skillset. You will be a self-starter and proactive in keeping up with digital communications best practice and new ideas.

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of keeping up-to-date with best practice in digital communications.
  • Able to demonstrate a creative working style which includes generating engaging content on a range of topics working directly with members of the public and staff
  • Understanding of the nature of web content and ability to plan what works best for different target audiences.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of online channels and the ability to advise colleagues on the best use of these channels.
  • Confident and competent in using content management systems to update websites and intranet systems.
  • The ability to understand and communicate technical issues to non- technical staff.

Desirable

  • Some knowledge of project management principles.

Experience

  • Previous experience of managing social and digital media channels for a public or private sector organisation.
  • Experience of using digital evaluation and planning tools and techniques, including an understanding of SEO.
