Job summary

BNSSG Integrated Care Board (ICB) are delighted to recruit to the role of Improving Cancer Journey Programme Manager (Macmillan) on an 18 month fixed-term contract.

This exciting opportunity will bring the successful applicant into the Cancer Team in the ICB and will work across the BNSSG ICS footprint, to lead work focused on improving cancer outcomes and quality of life for our population, by reducing inequalities and supporting a unified approach to care delivery.

The post holder will lead the integration and improvement of the Cancer journey and drive improvement on cancer outcomes and quality of life for our population by bringing together partners and services from across the BNSSG footprint and driving forward plans to support sustainable change.

This role in BNSSG ICB, has been made possible by a partnership with and funding from Macmillan Cancer Support.

Main duties of the job

The Improving Cancer Journey Programme Manager - Macmillan, will join the ICB Cancer Team and work across the BNSSG ICS footprint, to lead work focused on improving cancer outcomes and quality of life for our population, by reducing inequalities and supporting a unified approach to care delivery.

The Programme Manager will promote synergistic working within the ICS and existing alliances, community leaders, councils, service users and VCSE to bring together services, both commissioned and voluntary to support a patient centric approach to care delivery across BNSSG ICS.

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas/ Specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate education or equivalent experience / training.

  • Robust understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
