Job summary

Main duties of the job

The head of product and platforms is an expert practitioner with broad industry and health and care experience, who can define and assure best practice while influencing, leading and mentoring others.At this role level, you will:

  • Influence both design and system strategy and priorities.
  • Collaborate with counterpart colleagues across the health and care system.
  • Focus on ensuring the right conditions and environment for designers to work effectively.
  • Defining product and platform roadmaps
  • Operate at scale and provide the connection between multidisciplinary health and care system areas and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the necessary business processes are followed.
  • Participate in the governance of the products and platforms as part of the overall Surrey Heartlands system architecture, including acting as a point of escalation for the delivery teams.
  • Own the budget and allocate funding to areas of the service based on your decisions about priorities, ensuring these decisions are governed effectively across the system with regard due to due process.
  • Communicate the benefits and performance of the platforms and products.
  • Be responsible for the successful operation and continuous improvement of the services.
  • Coordinating as ICS system lead the development, delivery and sharing of roadmaps, investment plans, service quality and user needs.
