Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Consultant Clinical Health Psychologist to join Surrey Heartlands ICB to provide clinical leadership to the Macmillan Psychological Support across Cancer programme.
This role will bring senior clinical and wider-professional expertise to the into shaping the development and co-design of a high-quality psychology services for people with cancer. The role will play a vital part in connecting teams and professionals across organisations and care settings which aims to improve access and support to patients with psychological issues throughout and following their cancer journey across Frimley, Surrey Heartlands and Sussex.
As it is a Macmillan funded post, your professional development will be actively supported by Macmillan Cancer Support.
If you have experience of delivering complex health programmes, are able to develop effective working relationships across organisations and boundaries, and are motivated to make a difference, then this role could be for you.
Main duties of the job
- Mapping current psychological support offers across cancer care pathways, identifying gaps and areas of good practice.
- Designing a psychological care across cancer pathways model of care for the Surrey and Sussex geographical footprint by engaging key stakeholders in the process and developing relationships.
- Working with providers, commissioners and other stakeholders to develop business cases where necessary, ensuing developing and sustainability of services providing integrated psychological care support for people living with and beyond cancer.
- Influencing providers, commissioners and other stakeholders to adopt, implement and develop the psychological care principals across Surrey and Sussex to ensure equitable provision of integrated psychological care support for people across the geographical region.
- Promoting and sharing the psychological care principles and progress of development at regional and national opportunities, influencing equitable access to integrated psychological care support for people and highlighting best practice and sharing learning.
- Using evidenced based best practice and guidelines to develop the clinical and operational model of highly specialist psychological care support for people and provide guidance and advice implementing the operational model as a subject matter expert.
- Participate in the evaluation and community of practice or similar forums to share learning and best practice.
