Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, caring and enthusiastic person to join the Surrey Heartlands Medicines Optimisation Team, in which we place a high importance on equality and diversity, alongside the NHS and organisational values we expect everyone to demonstrate during their work.

We are looking for a forward thinking project manager to work with our Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead, to optimise the use of community pharmacy services within Surrey Heartlands. This role will support the integration of community pharmacy services across Surrey Heartlands enabling, in particular, the range of clinical services included within the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework to be fully utilised in order to help manage overall demand in general practices and urgent care settings.

As the NHS enters a period of recovery following the Covid pandemic, community pharmacy is well placed to support the system in opening up access to a range of clinical and preventative services and supporting actions to mitigate against health inequalities.

For this to happen equitably across Surrey Heartlands expert project management to support the roll out of the community pharmacy clinical services is critical to realise the full potential of the nationally agreed contract for local populations. Surrey Heartlands ICS is committed to integrating community pharmacy and optimising the use of its services for the benefit of local people.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary:

The role will promote an integrated approach to implementation and improvement of referral pathways into community pharmacy services (e.g. NHS Discharge Medicines Service and Smoking Cessation Advanced Service). As such the post-holder will be required to lead on the mobilisation and the local implementation of a national programme of work that will support delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. This will include the development of associated policies to be utilised across Surrey Heartlands with associated monitoring.

The Project Manager will work alongside the Community Pharmacy Clinical lead in Surrey Heartlands working closely with the South East Regional Chief Pharmacist and South East Regional Integration Lead.
