Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of CHC Clinical Services to join our team at NEL Integrated Care Board (ICB). The successful candidate will lead the operational delivery of the NEL ICB Clinical Continuing Health service, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and well-coordinated CHC services. This role is essential for meeting all statutory, regulatory, and NHS requirements, aligning with the organisation's objectives.

Main duties of the job

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide professional leadership and operational management for CHC staff, ensuring compliance with statutory and professional requirements.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement an annual training and development plan, ensure staff receive annual appraisals and personal development plans, and provide regular supervision.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure staff adhere to established policies such as Safeguarding Policy, MCA DoLS, and LPS, acting as the CHC health lead in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Strategic Development: Support the Deputy Director of CHC in strategic service development and annual business planning cycles.
  • Expertise in CHC: Act as an expert in CHC, providing strategic advice and clinical support.

Key Operational Requirements:

  • Staff Management: Lead recruitment, induction, appraisal, supervision, and performance management of staff in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Performance Management: Ensure the service meets KPIs, engage staff in achieving targets, and deliver national and local imperatives.
  • Quality & Audit: Develop and monitor clinical/practice standards, contribute to the annual audit plan, and lead peer review and quality initiatives.
  • Contract Review: Provide strategic advice and clinical support on the quality of service providers in contract reviews.
  • Service Development: Develop policies and procedures in line with national and local requirements.
