Job summary

The newly established Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) directorate is dedicated to supporting the ICB/ICS in becoming a truly inclusive organisation and system, challenging the barriers across the systemwhich cause disparities in our workforce and for our service users.

We believe that developing an organisational culture that fully embraces equality, diversity and inclusion is not a 'nice to have' but is a key priority for ethical and dynamic health and social care services in the 21st century.ICB Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Team work closely with senior leaders to provide equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing support to the ICB. The team will play a pivotal role in the ICB, ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion is a core part of how we recruit, develop and deploy our workforce, and in doing so provide a better service to the population we serve.

Main duties of the job

The team will support the organisation in delivering our priorities in line with the NHS People Plan. In addition, the team will support the delivery of the ICB's EDI strategic objectives and the people wellbeing priorities. The aim is to attract, develop and retain staff as well as providing an inclusive and healthy culture through the development and application of key people information metrics, behaviours and actions that will create change/improvement in our culture and employee experience.

The Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Manager will be the operational lead and subject matter expert for workforce EDI improvements across the ICB. The post holder will support the senior leadership of the ICB with expert advice on best practice in relation to identifying and evaluating opportunities and implementing solutions to improve organisational culture and staff experience. In addition, they will develop and implement diversity & inclusion and health & wellbeing strategies that promote a compassionate, open, inclusive, safe and healthy environment.

  • Educated to master's degree level in a relevant subject or the equivalent level of experience, developed through similar specialist roles including professional CIPD membership

Experience

  • Significant experience of devising, implementing, and evaluating Equality, Diversity and Inclusion interventions that enhance employee experience
  • Demonstrable experience of providing specialist advice, support, and guidance on a range of highly complex and sensitive issues to key decision makers within the organisation
  • Expert understanding of Diversity and Inclusion with the ability to provide specialist advice up to Board level
  • Significant experience of successfully leading complex projects, ensuring benefits realisation
