is a new role within the Sussex AHP Workforce team with the focus of delivering
improvements for the AHP Support Workforce across the health and social care
system. The post holder will work as a champion for the AHP Support Workforce
by supporting and facilitating collaboration across organisations to develop a
range of activities and projects - enabling the expansion of learning,
development, and progression opportunities for this staff group.
The
Sussex AHP Faculty has been implementing the National AHP Support Workforce
Programme and this role will be pivotal in continuing to embed and expand this
important workforce transformation workstream.

Main duties of the job
With
support, the post holder will facilitate this programme of work across Sussex
with the goal of developing support worker roles and career progression
opportunities across the 14 AHP professions. The role will establish and
maintain strong and effective partnerships and stakeholder relationships across
local, regional and national networks. This will enable a system wide approach
to support and develop the AHP support workforce in Sussex.
The
role will involve delivering key workstreams around AHP support workforce
priorities and projects, networking (internal and external) and facilitating
multi-professional scoping and steering groups.
This will ultimately help to:

Improve education standards, access and
uptake for AHP support workers
-
Grow the AHP support workforce
alongside the registered workforce
-
Improve retention and reduce vacancies
-
Support organisations to address
variation in support worker roles, banding and progression.

Improve diversity of the support
workforce.
This
role sits within the Sussex Health and Care (Integrated Care System) AHP
Workforce Team. We appreciate that working at system level and across

Essential
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or willing to work towards a degree, or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level within AHP specialities.
Experience

- Minimum of 2 years clinical expertise within AHP support work, underpinned by theory and practical experience.
Desirable
- Project Management experience and evidence of delivering improvements.
- Experience of facilitating meetings / leading group work
- Understanding / experience of system level working

- Good understanding of the AHP Support Workforce and its challenges
- and barriers.
- Knowledge and experience of analysing information and making judgements and decisions in relation to this information.
